Happy Fall Y’all! Let’s talk Fall and Hallowen decor, shall we?
My favorite time of year is FALL! I decided I would share with you all my decorations in the house. I absolutely LOVE to decorate, especially for the seasons. It makes me feel so warm inside to see all the cute, little things everywhere in the house and outside. Right now my house is decked out in Halloween and Fall decor and I LOVE it! In the left pic it is just Fall decor, but in the pic below you can see where I added just a couple Halloween items for this month.
I tend to spend about $50-100 every year depending on the decorations I find. No, I don’t buy everything I see every year. I am very picky and don’t like to spend gobs of money on decor.
First things first for Fall Decor…
I like to go to the Dollar Store or Dollar General and see if I can find anything on the cheap there that is cute and obviously inexpensive. I always pick up a few things at these stores every year. This is typically where I get just the small table top items or the glassware for other small things to go inside.
Then, I head on over to Wal-Mart and pick up a few pinecones, the kind that smell like potpourri. 🙂 Maybe throw in a candle if you need it! This year I picked up a bag full of styrofoam pumpkins that were about 4 dollars. Great decision might I add.
Side note…My love just mentioned to me that I should get a Cornucopia. I haven’t seen one of those in ages! He has a great idea 😉
Up above is our dining room. The little mummy I got at the Dollar Tree and the Halloween pumpkin, smaller pumpkins, corn and candles I got at Wal-Mart.
Saving the best for last
My absolute favorite place to get decorations for any season is Hobby Lobby! They typically have their items marked down 40% for fall decor starting in October. Not sure why cause it’s not like they need to make room for Christmas decor. They’ve had that in there since when? July probably..haha. In the photo above the large patterned pumpkin is from Hob Lob.
This table runner is from Tuesday Morning, which is another of my favorite places to shop. It was only $12! These decorations here to the right are all from Dollar General. I got these about 6 years ago and spent $12 dollars on the whole thing. Pretty good deal if you ask me! This is on the breakfast table. Here are a few more things…
I found a cute idea on Pinterest to put kernels in a candle votive; however, I added my
own touch by wrapping twine around it and adding the bow 🙂The pine cones I told you about from Wal-mart!
Target is another of my favorites! I got those grave markers above and the 31 from Target. They were about $3-5 each. The acorn/pinecone pumpkin, Hob Lob. I also got the tall ghost from there for half off, so only $4. The tiny ghost is from Walmart $3.
All in all I think simple is key. I don’t think our home is over done in decorations, well, at least not yet. But I think the key is to buy when it is on sale and to start small like I did with a simple table center piece that was only $12. From there you can just add on every year! So by the time you’re 65 you’ll have a whole house full of wonderful decorations! 🙂
